Joint Task Force-Bravo’s 1-228th Aviation Regiment helps protect Honduran village from fire

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — As the sun was setting in the hazy afternoon sky, Joint Task Force-Bravo received a call requesting assistance to put out a fire threatening homes and to cut off a road leading to a local village on a mountain ridge in Comayagua, Honduras on April 1, 2014.The 1-228th Aviation Regiment roared into action and quickly prepared to combat the blaze,

Four members of Joint Task Force-Bravo’s Army Forces Battalion (ARFOR) in Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, completed the Bataan Memorial Death March on Sunday March 23, 2014 in the White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. The Bataan Memorial Death March honors a group of World War II heroes, who defended the islands of Luzon, Corregidor and the harbor defense forts of the Philippines in 1942. After being captured by the Japanese forces, these Army, Army Air Corps, Navy, Marines, and National Guard heroes, survived on half or quarter rations and outdated equipment during the 80 mile march.The soldiers were responsible for the defense of the islands of Luzon, Corregidor and the harbor defense forts of the Philippines.

More than 25 members made the trip to the Hogar de Ninos, Nazareth girls orphanage where they spent a Saturday afternoon visiting with more than 50 children.
