JTF-Bravo and El Salvador work together during disaster relief tabletop exercise

Members from Joint Task Force-Bravo, including El Salvador members from the fire brigade, military, national civil police, Ministry of Health, General Directorate of Civil Protection, Preparation and Response Department, and several other agencies, gathered in San Salvador, El Salvador to conduct a two-day humanitarian assistance and disaster relief tabletop exercise named Jaguar Sentinel, previously named Sentinel Watch. Jaguar Sentinel is a tabletop exercise aimed at maintaining partnerships within the Central America region, exchanging subject matter expertise in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and bringing partner nations together to collaborate in one combined exercise.

JTF-Bravo builds relations while building beds

The Joint Task Force Bravo religious affairs team along with 35 volunteers spent three days at San Antonio de Padua orphanage in Comayagua, Honduras, repainting two buildings and building 20 new beds from January 25 to 27, 2025. The JTF-Bravo members concluded the event by spending time with the 33 children at the orphanage, providing food to everyone and giving each child new backpacks filled with school supplies for the school year. The religious affairs team created this initiative to not only help the children and the orphanage but to strengthen JTF-Bravo's ability to provide humanitarian aid and build relationships with the local community.

Soto Cano Air Base upgrades base defense system

Soto Cano Air Base has upgraded its base defense system with a newly installed counter-unmanned aircraft system called Dronebuster. In 2023, Soto Cano was listed as one of over 250 installations slated to receive a suite of capabilities, including a monitoring system and six "defeat" systems.

Chapel Hike 99 is in the books

During Chapel Hike 99, 121 service members from Soto Cano Air Base, near Comayagua, Honduras, hiked just under 7 miles to deliver 3,100 pounds of food donations to150 Honduran families, Dec. 15, 2024.

Fighting fires with partnerships

Firefighters from the 612th Air Base Squadron, Joint Task Force-Bravo, and the JTF-Bravo Civil Affairs team in Panama worked closely with Panamanian firefighters through essential skills training and humanitarian assistance from Dec. 10-12, 2024. The JTF-Bravo Firefighters trained 16 local firefighters on firefighting techniques and need-to-knows such as the 10 Standard Fire Orders, wildland firefighting tactics, how to tie proper knots, low angle rescue and vehicle extraction.
