End of the day

U.S. Marine Corps Gen. John F. Kelly, Commander, U.S. Southern Command, visits with a member of the Honduran military while touring a Honduran Naval installation at La Ceiba, Honduras, Feb. 12, 2014. Kelly and a delegation of U.S. Department of State and U.S. and Honduran military leaders, including U.S. Ambassador to Honduras Lisa Kubiske, Honduran Maj. Gen. USSOUTHCOM Commander visits Honduran military installations

Zaiser received a mission briefing from U.S. Army Col. Thomas Boccardi, Joint Task Force-Bravo Commander, as well as a base tour from U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Norriel Fahie, Army Support Activity. Following a lunch with enlisted members of the Task Force, Zaiser spent the afternoon meeting with senior enlisted leaders and members of Joint Task Force-Bravo's Army Forces Battalion, Joint Security Forces, 1-228th Aviation Regiment, and 612th Air Base Squadron. Joint Task Force-Bravo members received a visit from Western Hemisphere MMA, Feb. 8, 2014, courtesy of the Department of Defense's Armed Forces Entertainment and the Soto Cano Air Base Army Support Activity's Office of Morale, Welfare and Recreation. UFC athletes Kyle Kingsbury, Mike Pierce, Nate “Rock” Quarry and Steven Josephy did a meet and greet with Task Force members then provided an entertaining evening of MMA demonstration as well as combatives instruction. Several Task Force members had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grapple one-on-one with the professional fighters.

More than 120 members of Joint Task Force-Bravo spent the day delivering more than 2,400 pounds of food and medical supplies to families in need in the mountain village of La Laguna, Honduras. To deliver the supplies, Task Force members carried the items on a more than seven-mile round trip hike, with an elevation gain of 1,700 feet.
