Joint Task Force-Bravo members ring in the holidays with “5K Jingle Bell Run & Walk”

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — More than 100 Joint Task Force-Bravo members participated in the "2013 Jingle Bell 5K Run & Walk"

U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Willie Price, U.S. Air Force Capt. Allen Bear, Jose Adalberto Mejia, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. John Fowler, and U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Michael Batres were recognized for their actions in assisting at the scene of a vehicle accident, Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, Dec. 16, 2013. On the evening of Dec. 11, 2013, Adalberto Mejia was driving a taxi with the four service members riding as passengers when the men witnessed a vehicle striking a cow that had wandered onto the road. The vehicle flipped upside down and came to rest in a ditch. The five men came to the aid of the driver of the overturned vehicle, pulling him from the wreckage and then loading him into the taxi to transport him to receive medical treatment. Joint Task Force-Bravo members and local Honduran citizen render aid to vehicle accident victim

Joint Task Force-Bravo supports pediatric disaster training for Honduran emergency responders

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — Joint Task Force-Bravo's Medical Element (MEDEL) partnered with the American Academy of Pediatrics

Twenty-three members of Joint Task Force-Bravo’s 612th Air Base Squadron volunteered to spend afternoon painting buildings at the Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Orphanage, Dec. 11, 2013. The event was organized by U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jessica Clemente, Staff Sgt. Ramiro Garza, and Staff Sgt. Claudia Thurner, and paint and supplies were purchased using funds garnered from a unit fundraiser. Support from the 612 ABS is critical for the orphanage, as it receives no government funding; often the 612 ABS is the only provider for supplies to the orphanage. In addition to projects such as assisting with painting buildings, the 612 ABS members provide monthly birthday gifts for the children at the orphanage, as well as donating much-needed day to day supplies such as soap, laundry detergent, socks for the children’s school uniforms, and other essential items. Joint Task Force-Bravo MEDEVAC saves life of Honduran infant

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — Members of Joint Task Force-Bravo's Medical Element (MEDEL) and 1-228th Aviation Regiment conducted

U.S. Army Col. Thomas Boccardi, Joint Task Force-Bravo Commander, and Julie Schechter Torres, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy, met with Lt. Col. Santos Colindres, Deputy Commander of the Honduran 5th Infantry Battalion, at Mocoron, Honduras, Dec. 3, 2013. The leaders discussed several issues affecting the Gracias a Dios region of Honduras and how the U.S. and Honduras can work together to overcome challenges. Boccardi and Torres then departed Mocoron to observe Joint Task Force-Bravo's Medical Element (MEDEL) performing a Medical Readiness Training Exercise (MEDRETE) in the remote village of Auka.
