Exercise Vita: JTF-Bravo Colombian partners conduct interoperability training in La Guajira

Combined forces from Colombia and the U.S. concluded Exercise Vita at Fort Buenavista, Colombia, during a ceremony March 17 that marked more than two weeks of operations in the country's La Guajira region. More than 150 members of Joint Task Force-Bravo, based out of Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras, worked together with members of the Colombian Armed Forces and numerous government agencies to accomplish key training events for the exercise.

Central American, US firefighters grow competencies, partnerships

Like past years going back more than a decade, Joint Task Force-Bravo welcomed 25 Central American firefighters from Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Honduras to be trained during a biannual iteration of CENTAM SMOKE – a firefighting exercise that runs five days at Soto Cano Air Base.

Humanitarian mission helps those in need while providing training for AE, aircrew

Airmen from the 315th Airlift Wing deployed a C-17 Globemaster III Feb. 1, 2020 to deliver donated humanitarian aid to Honduras, in support of the Denton Program. The Denton Program is a Department of Defense transportation program that moves humanitarian cargo, donated by U.S. based non-governmental organizations to developing nations to ease human suffering. The program helps move donations from one spot to another to ensure proper delivery while simultaneously providing training hours for aircrews.

Reserve Citizen Airmen treat Honduran patients during medical readiness training exercise

Twenty-one Air Force Reserve medics with the 403rd Wing took part of a Medical Readiness Training Exercise Dec. 4-18. Known as the 403rd MEDRETE 2019 Honduras, Airmen from the 403rd Aeromedical Staging Squadron and 36th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron here as well as reservists from around the country, worked with a team of doctors from the Joint Task Force-Bravo Surgeon’s Cell out of Soto Cano Air Base, to provide free medical care to the citizens of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

Exercise Mercury prepares Panamanian and U.S. forces for disaster response

Joint Task Force-Bravo service members and Panamanian forces joined for an emergency response and humanitarian assistance exercise in the Darien Province, Panama, December 3-10 to hone expeditionary and readiness capabilities during a combined, joint exercise called Mercury. Amid dense jungle and remote field conditions, more than 100 U.S. participants worked alongside their Panamanian hosts to respond to a simulated flooding disaster following a hurricane – a wholly believable scenario for the region.

Twenty-two U.S. military service members assigned to Joint Task Force-Bravo worked alongside Honduran military and relief organizations to conduct a medical readiness training exercise in the department of Cortes, Honduras, Nov. 5-7, treating more than 800 patients.
