New leader assumes command, carries on legacy at JTF-Bravo

U.S. Army Col. Steven Barry, Joint Task Force Bravo (JTF-B) commander, passed that symbol of leadership in spirit to the new JTF-B commander, Army Col. John D. Litchfield, in a virtual ceremony presided over by U.S. Southern Command commander Adm. Craig Faller, Aug. 5, 2020 at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras. Barry is a native of Hamilton, New Jersey and graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1996.

U.S. ARMY HELICOPTER CONDUCTS LANDING IN SANTA BARBARA DUE TO THUNDERSTORM

A U.S. Army UH-60 helicopter landed in San José de Colinas, a municipality in the department of Santa Barbara, Honduras, July 9, 2020, due to inclement weather conditions.  The four-member crew was conducting medical evacuation training and area orientation for evacuation procedures, and is assigned to Joint Task Force-Bravo’s 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment.

DENTON PROGRAM TRANSPORTS AID TO HONDURAS

A U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft from the 133rd Air National Guard in Minnesota transported a large donation of 44,180 pounds of humanitarian aid supplies to Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, June 26, through the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Denton Program.

Honduran Air Force, US Army partner for first-ever online MEDEVAC training course

Twenty members of the Honduran Air Force graduated from a Basic Aeromedical Evacuation training course provided by Joint Task Force- Bravo, June 19. The three-week academic training course included the participation of 13 nurses and seven doctors stationed at different Honduran Air Force bases, who connected with their JTF-Bravo counterpart from the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment through video chat.

JTF-Bravo conducts large formation helicopter exercise

U.S. Army soldiers assigned to Joint Task Force Bravo conducted a helicopter exercise out of Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, May 28, 2020. The exercise involved participation from the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment and the use of 10 U.S. Army CH-47 Chinooks and UH-60 L Blackhawk helicopters.

JTF-Bravo facilitates repatriation of US citizens from Honduras

At the request of the U.S. State Department and at the direction of U.S. Southern Command, a U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules is transporting 78 U.S. citizens from Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, who were previously unable to return home, to Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia.
