U.S. ARMY HELICOPTER CONDUCTS LANDING IN SANTA BARBARA DUE TO THUNDERSTORM

Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras — A U.S. Army UH-60 helicopter landed in San José de Colinas, a municipality in the department of Santa Barbara, Honduras, July 9, 2020, due to inclement weather conditions.  The four-member crew was conducting medical evacuation training and area orientation for evacuation procedures, and is assigned to Joint Task Force-Bravo’s 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment.

DENTON PROGRAM TRANSPORTS AID TO HONDURAS

Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras — A U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft from the 133rd Air National Guard in Minnesota transported a large donation of 44,180 pounds of humanitarian aid supplies to Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, June 26, through the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Denton Program.

Honduran Air Force, US Army partner for first-ever online MEDEVAC training course

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — Twenty members of the Honduran Air Force graduated from a Basic Aeromedical Evacuation training course provided by Joint Task Force- Bravo, June 19. The three-week academic training course included the participation of 13 nurses and seven doctors stationed at different Honduran Air Force bases, who connected with their JTF-Bravo counterpart from the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment through video chat.

JTF-Bravo conducts large formation helicopter exercise

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — U.S. Army soldiers assigned to Joint Task Force Bravo conducted a helicopter exercise out of Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, May 28, 2020. The exercise involved participation from the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment and the use of 10 U.S. Army CH-47 Chinooks and UH-60 L Blackhawk helicopters.

JTF-Bravo facilitates repatriation of US citizens from Honduras

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — At the request of the U.S. State Department and at the direction of U.S. Southern Command, a U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules is transporting 78 U.S. citizens from Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, who were previously unable to return home, to Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia.

Exercise Vita: JTF-Bravo Colombian partners conduct interoperability training in La Guajira

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — Combined forces from Colombia and the U.S. concluded Exercise Vita at Fort Buenavista, Colombia, during a ceremony March 17 that marked more than two weeks of operations in the country's La Guajira region. More than 150 members of Joint Task Force-Bravo, based out of Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras, worked together with members of the Colombian Armed Forces and numerous government agencies to accomplish key training events for the exercise.

Central American, US firefighters grow competencies, partnerships

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — Like past years going back more than a decade, Joint Task Force-Bravo welcomed 25 Central American firefighters from Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Honduras to be trained during a biannual iteration of CENTAM SMOKE – a firefighting exercise that runs five days at Soto Cano Air Base.

Humanitarian mission helps those in need while providing training for AE, aircrew

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — Airmen from the 315th Airlift Wing deployed a C-17 Globemaster III Feb. 1, 2020 to deliver donated humanitarian aid to Honduras, in support of the Denton Program. The Denton Program is a Department of Defense transportation program that moves humanitarian cargo, donated by U.S. based non-governmental organizations to developing nations to ease human suffering. The program helps move donations from one spot to another to ensure proper delivery while simultaneously providing training hours for aircrews.
