Joint Task Force-Bravo's Joint Security Forces remember U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Randall Harris

More than 120 members of Joint Task Force-Bravo, with the support of Joint Task Force-Bravo's Joint Security Forces and the Honduran military, completed a volunteer seven mile round trip hike to deliver 2,500 pounds of food and supplies to families in need in the mountain village of El Tamarindo outside Comayagua, Honduras, May 17, 2014. The effort was part of the 54th Joint Task Force-Bravo Chapel Hike, a venerable tradition during which Task Force members donate money to purchase food and supplies and then carry those supplies on a hike through the mountains to deliver them to local, underserviced communities. Army South's SSAT deploys

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador — Two U. S. Southern Command Situational Assessment Teams, referred to as SSAT, participated in FA-HUM

Key leaders from Joint Task Force-Bravo met with Honduran civic and military leaders at the Mobile Surgical Team's site of a Medical Readiness and Training Exercise (MEDRETE) being conducted in the town of Santa Rosa de Copan, Department of Copan, Honduras, May 7, 2014. The Task Force and Honduran leaders engaged in discussions on how to build on the strong relationship between the U.S. and Honduras, how Joint Task Force-Bravo can continue to partner with Honduras in order to provide assistance to those in need and toured the Mobile Surgical Team's mobile operating room where U.S. and Honduran medical professionals were working side-by-side conducting gall bladder and hernia repair surgeries for eight local citizens.

U. S. Army Lt. Col. Mark Talbert greets a five-year-old Honduran boy during a pre-operative visit May 6. His case is one of eight surgeries performed by the Joint Task Force-Bravo's Mobile Surgical Team and the surgical staff of the Santa Rosa hospital in the city of Santa Rosa de Copan, Department of Copan, Honduras during a Medical Readiness Training Exercise May 5-9. These surgeries, which are often very expensive for Honduran nationals, were provided free of charge. Joint Task Force-Bravo provides surgical care to Honduran patients

A Honduran woman and her child receives vitamins and medicine from a Honduran military service member during a Medical Readiness Training Exercise (MEDRETE) May 8. The MEDRETE was conducted by Joint Task Force-Bravo's Medical Element, with support from the JTF-Bravo Joint Security Forces and Army Forces Battalion, in partnership with the Honduran Ministry of Health and the Honduran military to provide medical care to more than 720 people in the remote village of La Arena in the Copan region of Honduras. The team worked together to provide preventative medicine to the villagers, including classes on hygiene, preventative dental care and nutrition. Joint Task Force-Bravo and Honduran Armed Forces servicemembers celebrated the bi-annual Camaraderie Day with sports, fellowship, and friendly competition, May 2, at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras. The servicemembers competed in men and women's 4x200 relay, volleyball, bicycle relay, and soccer. U.S. and Honduran servicemembers celebrate Camaraderie Day

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — A morning filled with sports, fellowship, and friendly competition celebrated the bi-annual

Joint Task Force-Bravo’s Medical Element hosted the American Society of Surgeon’s Advanced Trauma Life Support Team to train and certify members of the Honduran chapter here, April 25-30, 2014. This training allows Honduras to train its future physicians in a standard of care well known around the world, making it the 70th country in the world to have its own chapter.

JTF-Bravo Medical Element provides ATLS instructor course to Honduran doctors

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — Joint Task Force-Bravo's Medical Element hosted the American Society of Surgeon's Advanced Trauma

U. S. Army Capt. Allen Tangaan (right) with the assistance of his translator U. S. Army Staff Sgt. Ismael Arroyo, teaches a group of Honduran senior citizens the importance of exercising. Joint Task Force-Bravo's Medical Element (MEDEL), with support from all Joint Task Force-Bravo commands, hosted the Soto Cano Air Base Senior Health Engagement providing valuable health and wellness information, a base tour, and some entertainment to 133 Honduran senior citizens from Cane, La Paz, April 30. The group received health screenings and patient education related to blood pressure, blood sugar, exercise, muscle strength, balance and good oral hygiene as they age. After the screenings and classes were finished, the group of senior citizens was able to turn back the hands of time and act young again as they were treated to dance lessons and the opportunity to dance with members from Joint Task Force-Bravo. U. S. Army Capt. The teams worked together to provide preventive medicine to their patients which included classes on hygiene, hand washing, preventive dental care, and nutrition.
