JTF-Bravo troops visit Honduran Military Training Academy

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — A joint group of U.S. Airmen and Soldiers gained insight of their host nation's Honduran Military

(Dr.) Charles Henderson,visiting urologist, and Dr. Ricardo Aviles, MEDEL medical officer respond to reporters questions during an impromptu press conference at Hospital Escuela April 11. While working out of Hospital Escuela in Tegucigalpa March 28-April 13, the 11-person team, made up of personnel from Brooke and Madigan Army Medical Centers, operated on more than 35 patients treating problems ranging from obstructions to malignancies and problems associated with inflammatory diseases.

U.S. Army engineers are among the personnel participating in Beyond the Horizon, a training exercise that provides infrastructure renovation, as well as basic medical and dental care, to rural areas of this Central American country. Soldiers working in Las Mesas will replace the school's doors and windows, repair the roof, and repaint the entire structure, in addition to improving a soccer field on which local children play.
