SOTO CANO AIR BASE, HONDURAS –
Finding out what contracts are available with the U.S. military at Soto Cano just got easier for local people and businesses interested in doing business with the U.S. government.
The U.S. Department of Defense contracting office at Soto Cano recently erected a "solicitations board" at the Honduran Air Base's main entry gate. The board advertises contracts the U.S. Government anticipates awarding for supplies, services or minor construction projects in support of JTF-Bravo operations and missions at Soto Cano Air Base.
The solicitations are published in English with submittal instructions in Spanish and English including contact names, phone numbers and further instructions for contract solicitation submittals. "As long as the company providing the bid or proposal has the skill sets or can obtain the skill sets to accomplish the project, the contracting office will consider their bid," said Air Force Master Sgt. Jude Richard, administrative contracting officer for JTF-Bravo's Base Operations Support Services contract.
"Those interested in soliciting bids should know the contracting office reviews all submittals for adequacy, capability, cost, and competency," he said. "It is a competitive process that is closely guarded to ensure a fair and reasonable price for the U.S. government as well as stimulate business in the local economy."
