U.S. Army readiness, humanitarian mission go hand in hand

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras — A team of U.S. Army medical personnel from Brooke Army Medical Center participated in a training exercise in Hospital Escuela and Hospital Maria in Tegucigalpa, Honduras from July 19 – 27, performing complex trauma surgical procedures in a resource limited environment with logistical support from Joint Task Force-Bravo.

Chapel Hike 73: Developing relationships

EL TALADRO, Comayagua — More than 200 soldiers, airman and marines from Joint Task Force-Bravo and the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force - Southern Command participated in Chapel Hike 73 last Saturday, providing more than 5,000 pounds of donated food for the community of El Taladro in Comayagua, Honduras.

Joint Task Force – Bravo Medical Element personnel participated in a pediatric nutritional assessment mission as members of a joint team with the Honduran Ministry of Health to assess the nutritional status of children from the ages of 6 months to 60 months in the San Antonio area of La Paz, Honduras, Jun 14 - 15, 2017.

Preventive Med supports local pediatric nutrition assessment

La Paz, Honduras — Personnel from the Joint Task Force-Bravo Medical Element worked with Honduran counterparts from the Ministry of Health from June 14-15, 2017 for the second part of an ongoing pediatric nutrition study in communities of La Paz, Honduras.

More than 190 members of Joint Task Force-Bravo hiked approximately 3.6 miles round-trip to the village of San Jerónimo, Comayagua, Honduras, Apr. 29, 2017. Members carried more than 5025 lbs of food and supplies, 24 soccer balls and 3 piñatas to the people of San Jerónimo. Chapel hikes have been occurring since 2003, with the JTF-Bravo Chapel sponsoring an average of six every year. The hikes are designed to provide a practical way for JTF-Bravo members to engage and partner with local communities to provide support to surrounding villages in need of food and supplies.
