Joining forces maintain operability, provide medical care

Soldiers with the U.S. Army Reserve assigned to Joint Task Force-Bravo conducted a Medical Readiness Training Exercise with Honduran military counterparts in the Atlántida department, Honduras, to provide basic medical services at local schools in the Frutera, Saladito and Boca del Toro villages, August 6 – 8.

JTF-B helps Costa Rica receive Comfort support

Members of Joint Task Force Bravo supported the U.S.N.S Comfort Deployment 2019 in Costa Rica from July 21 – 30, along the coast of Punta Arena, Costa Rica. Pilots and aircrew assigned to the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment (1-228 AVN) transported personnel and equipment to allow the U.S. Naval Ship Comfort to provide medical care to Costa Rican citizens and Venezuelan migrants as part of the United states enduring promise of helping its southern neighbors.

U.S. Army aviation team completes qualifications to support USNS Comfort 2019

U.S. Army Helicopter pilots and crew members of Joint Task Force –Bravo completed qualifications July 18-26 to support an upcoming mission, off the coast of Punta Arenas, Costa Rica. The UH-60 Blackhawk team assigned to 1st Battalion 228th Aviation Regiment (1-228th AVN) conducted deck-landing qualifications in preparation to support USNS Comfort 2019 in Costa Rica.

U.S., Honduran health services battle disease in Honduran mountain community

Joint Task Force Bravo in concurrence with the Honduran Ministry of Health conducted a medical investigation into a possible disease outbreak, July 9 and 10, at La Libertad in the district of Comayagua, Honduras. Members of JTF-B’s Medical Element (MEDEL) examined the area of La Libertad to determine how and where the disease, Leishmaniasis, was spreading in the community and provide any recommendations that may stop infection.

Joint forces hone cohesion and skills during fire exercise

U.S. Air Force and Army service members from Joint Task Force – Bravo and Army Support Activity held a joint training exercise June 26, 2019, here. Firefighters from the 612th Air Base Squadron, medics from the Medical Element and security personnel from the 480th Military Police Company Forward 1 partnered together to rescue simulated burn casualties from a smoke-filled building and provide care to them on the scene.

Honduran soldiers complete U.S. Army led Security Forces Training

Members of the Honduran Army completed Security Forces Training (SFT) conducted by the U.S. Army with a graduation ceremony June 11, 2019, here. Puerto Rico U.S. Army National Guard members assigned to Task Force - Borinqueneer trained 45 Honduran service members during a two-week course on security forces techniques and procedures.

What started off as a routine passenger transport flight resulted in a search and recovery mission for Joint Task Force – Bravo The simulated scenario tested the base’s capabilities and procedures during a personnel recovery exercise, here, May 21.
