Joining forces maintain operability, provide medical care

ATLANTIDA, Honduras — Soldiers with the U.S. Army Reserve assigned to Joint Task Force-Bravo conducted a Medical Readiness Training Exercise with Honduran military counterparts in the Atlántida department, Honduras, to provide basic medical services at local schools in the Frutera, Saladito and Boca del Toro villages, August 6 – 8.

Congressional delegates visit Soto Cano service members

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — U.S. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, and 12 congressional representatives from various states visited service members, Aug. 10, 2019, at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras.

A UH-60 Blackhawk assigned to the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment spin prepares to return equipment and mail to the U.S.N.S. Comfort July 23, 2019, at Punta Arenas, Costa Rica. Pilots and aircrew assigned to the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation transported personnel and equipment to allow the U.S. Naval Ship Comfort to provide medical care to Costa Rican citizens and Venezuelan migrants as part of the United States enduring promise of helping its southern neighbors. JTF-B helps Costa Rica receive Comfort support

PUNTA ARENAS, Costa Rica — Members of Joint Task Force Bravo supported the U.S.N.S Comfort Deployment 2019 in Costa Rica from July 21 – 30, along the coast of Punta Arena, Costa Rica. Pilots and aircrew assigned to the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment (1-228 AVN) transported personnel and equipment to allow the U.S. Naval Ship Comfort to provide medical care to Costa Rican citizens and Venezuelan migrants as part of the United states enduring promise of helping its southern neighbors.

U.S. Army aviation team completes qualifications to support USNS Comfort 2019

Punta Arena, Costa Rica — U.S. Army Helicopter pilots and crew members of Joint Task Force –Bravo completed qualifications July 18-26 to support an upcoming mission, off the coast of Punta Arenas, Costa Rica. The UH-60 Blackhawk team assigned to 1st Battalion 228th Aviation Regiment (1-228th AVN) conducted deck-landing qualifications in preparation to support USNS Comfort 2019 in Costa Rica.

NEW LEADER ASSUMES COMMAND OF JTF-BRAVO

Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras — U.S. Army Colonel Steven Barry, an Ohio State University graduate and former West Point instructor in Military History, assumed command of Joint Task Force-Bravo July 24, 2019 during a Change of Command ceremony at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras.

U.S., Honduran health services battle disease in Honduran mountain community

COMAYAGUA, Honduras — Joint Task Force Bravo in concurrence with the Honduran Ministry of Health conducted a medical investigation into a possible disease outbreak, July 9 and 10, at La Libertad in the district of Comayagua, Honduras. Members of JTF-B’s Medical Element (MEDEL) examined the area of La Libertad to determine how and where the disease, Leishmaniasis, was spreading in the community and provide any recommendations that may stop infection.

Joint forces hone cohesion and skills during fire exercise

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras — U.S. Air Force and Army service members from Joint Task Force – Bravo and Army Support Activity held a joint training exercise June 26, 2019, here. Firefighters from the 612th Air Base Squadron, medics from the Medical Element and security personnel from the 480th Military Police Company Forward 1 partnered together to rescue simulated burn casualties from a smoke-filled building and provide care to them on the scene.

Honduran Army soldiers participated in the two-week SFT course led by U.S. Army Puerto Rico National Guard service members assigned to Task Force ¬¬– Borinqueneer. The course taught them about security techniques and procedures to include formation, breaching, weapons training, casualty care, vehicle searching and tactical control points. Honduran soldiers complete U.S. Army led Security Forces Training

ZAMBRANO RANGE, Honduras — Members of the Honduran Army completed Security Forces Training (SFT) conducted by the U.S. Army with a graduation ceremony June 11, 2019, here. Puerto Rico U.S. Army National Guard members assigned to Task Force - Borinqueneer trained 45 Honduran service members during a two-week course on security forces techniques and procedures.

JTF-B assess, educates Honduran community

LA PAZ, Honduras — Medics from Joint Task Force - Bravo’s Medical Element (MEDEL) and 1st Battalion 228th Aviation Regiment partnered to help assess the needs of Florida de San Jose, a small community of La Paz, Honduras, during a Pediatric Medical Readiness Training Exercise (MEDRETE), May 22-23.
