Chapel Hike 99 is in the books

During Chapel Hike 99, 121 service members from Soto Cano Air Base, near Comayagua, Honduras, hiked just under 7 miles to deliver 3,100 pounds of food donations to150 Honduran families, Dec. 15, 2024.

Fighting fires with partnerships

Firefighters from the 612th Air Base Squadron, Joint Task Force-Bravo, and the JTF-Bravo Civil Affairs team in Panama worked closely with Panamanian firefighters through essential skills training and humanitarian assistance from Dec. 10-12, 2024. The JTF-Bravo Firefighters trained 16 local firefighters on firefighting techniques and need-to-knows such as the 10 Standard Fire Orders, wildland firefighting tactics, how to tie proper knots, low angle rescue and vehicle extraction.

Over three days, 18 service members from Army Forces Battalion, Joint Task Force-Bravo, alongside more than 50 Honduran counterparts, provided health care services to 835 Hondurans living in the vicinity of Tela, Honduras, Dec. 3 through 5, 2024.

International unity through empowerment

In March 2024, U.S. Army Capt. Clarissa Noyola, Army Forces Battalion Civil Affairs officer, seized an opportunity to bring the women service members and civilian personnel from both the Honduran military and the American military together. EmpowerHER’s is a community sponsored initiative whose mission is to cultivate a community of empowered women, that fosters strength, support and unity. Through mutual encouragement and shared wisdom, this unique program looks to inspire each member to embrace their individual sovereignty, leading to personal growth and a collective impact within their communities.

JTF-Bravo civil affairs team facilitates Olanchito school inauguration

The JTF-Bravo civil affairs team to Honduras facilitated the inauguration of a kindergarten in Olanchito, Yoro, Honduras, donated through the Humanitarian Assistance Program of the United States Southern Command, Nov. 13, 2024. While there, U.S. military and community leaders discussed future community needs including a water reservoir and purification system.
