JTF-Bravo supports hernia and gallbladder surgical mission in Belize

Nurses from Joint Task Force-Bravo and the Western Regional Hospital Belize conducted gallbladder and hernia surgical procedures during a JTF-Bravo surgical mission, Belmopan, Belize, Aug. 5, 2025. Surgical missions provide an opportunity for servicemembers to engage with the local community and give back to our neighbors while providing them with services that may otherwise be unavailable or in high demand. Since 1992, medical support to Central America has been a hallmark of JTF-Bravo’s presence in the region, improving overall health and long-term stability.

JTF-Bravo medical exercise treats 620 Costa Ricans

Seventeen Joint Task Force-Bravo members assigned to the 349th Medical Detachment traveled to Pejibaye, Costa Rica, to team up with 46 Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social members to conduct a Medical Readiness Training Exercise and provided medical care to 620 people between February 25-27, 2025. MEDRETEs are regularly occurring missions conducted by JTF-Bravo in many locations within the Central America region. While conducting these missions, community members receive several types of care depending on their needs such as; preventative medicine, being seen by medical providers, pharmacy and dental.

GHE brings humanitarian assistance and medical care to Guatemalans

A Global Health Engagement conducted by Joint Task Force-Bravo in conjunction with Guatemala’s State Partnership Program counterpart, the Arkansas National Guard’s 188th Wing, and the Guatemalan military, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food, served communities in the remote villages near Livingston, Guatemala, May 13-16, 2024.

Snapshots of Service: JTF-Bravo's Global Health Engagement in Guatemala

Joint Task Force-Bravo with the support from Arkansas National Guard’s 188th Air Wing and the Guatemalan military, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food conducted a Global Health Engagement in remote villages near Livingston, Guatemala, May 13-16, 2024. During the 4-day GHE, JTF-Bravo and its partners delivered care to over 500 patients and 1,500 animals. Services provided were medical, dental, pharmacy, veterinary, public health and surgery.
