Strengthening partnerships before the storm

U.S. military and civilian personnel from Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-Bravo), a unit under the U.S. Southern Command (U.S. SOUTHCOM) based out of Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, the U.S. Agency for International Development Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (USAID/BHA), integrated efforts with the Salvadoran Armed Forces and Civil Protection System during Sentinel Watch, a combined training exercise to build disaster response readiness, 27-28 July.

Sentinel Watch prepares Guatemala and U.S. military for regional disasters

Personnel from Joint Task Force-Bravo, the U.S. Agency for International Development Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (USAID/BHA), the Guatemalan National Coordination for Disaster Reduction (CONRED) and Guatemalan military representatives conducted a two-day humanitarian assistance and disaster relief tabletop exercise, Sentinel Watch, June 8-9.

JTF-BRAVO PARTICIPATES IN DISASTER RESPONSE EXERCISE IN PANAMA

Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-Bravo), a unit under the U.S. Southern Command (U.S. SOUTHCOM) and based out of Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, will participate in Exercise Mercury iii, the third iteration of a Joint Humanitarian and Disaster Relief exercise (HADR) that falls under Panama’s larger Joint Exercise known as Panamax Alpha. Mercury iii is designed to build on the training audiences’ capability to plan and respond to a HADR event in Panama, March 23 – April 1. The joint exercise will include participation with the Panamanian National Aeronaval Service and National Border Service.

Service members with Joint Task Force-Bravo joined the Coordination Center for Disaster Prevention in Central America and the Dominican Republic’s II Regional Drill in Guatemala City, Jan 31 - Feb 4, to strengthen regional disaster readiness and coordination.

JTF-Bravo redeploys after support to JTF-Haiti

In support of the whole-of-government effort led by the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-B) joined forces with Joint Task Force-Haiti (JTF-Haiti) to deliver much-needed aid as rapidly as possible to victims of the recent 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Haiti, Aug. 15-Sept.9.

Haitian-born Black Hawk pilot supports JTF-Haiti earthquake relief efforts

U.S. Army Capt. Alix Idrache, a pilot and future operations planner with the 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment, Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-B), based out of Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, mobilized in support of Joint Task Force-Haiti (JTF-Haiti) to deliver much-needed aid as rapidly as possible to victims of the recent 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Haiti, Aug. 15-Sept. 9.
