Exercises AGILE BEAR 2.0 and Sentinel Watch in Belize

Joint Task Force-Bravo Public Affairs

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras   –

U.S. Southern Command’s Joint Task Force-Bravo, a unit based out of Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, is conducting exercises AGILE BEAR 2.0 and Sentinel Watch in locations across Belize from July 21-28, 2024.

AGILE BEAR 2.0 is Joint Task Force-Bravo's premier multinational exercise for humanitarian aid and disaster response with Belizean civil and military organizations, U.S. Embassy in Belize, U.S. Agency for International Development’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, and British Army Training Support Unit-Belize.

Sentinel Watch is a tabletop exercise with national and international humanitarian and emergency services that collaborate on natural disaster response in Belize.

Training will include several U.S. Army aircraft, including CH-47F Chinooks and UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters to support flight operations. These aircraft might be seen prior to the start of the exercise as they position service members and equipment.

JTF-Bravo routinely trains for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief and can rapidly respond with its unique airlift capabilities to save lives and alleviate suffering in the immediate aftermath of natural disasters.

Exercises like AGILE BEAR 2.0 and Sentinel Watch are conducted routinely across Central America to strengthen the U.S. military’s abilities and partnerships — preparing together for an emerging crisis caused by a natural disaster.
