A UH-60L Black Hawk helicopter assigned to Joint Task Force-Bravo’s 1st Aviation Regiment, 228th Battalion from Soto Cano Air Base, Republic of Honduras, awaits passengers to board for transport from the USNS Spearhead in the Gulf of Panama to Panama Pacifico, Panama, Sept. 22, 2016, during UNITAS 16. The 1-228th “Winged Warriors” provided ship-to-shore airlift as well as medical evacuation and search and rescue support for the exercise that was first conceived in 1959, first executed in 1960 and held every year since. This year makes the 57th iteration of world’s longest-running annual multinational maritime exercise.
