‘Winged Warriors’ provide ship-to-shore transport, MEDEVAC and SAR support for multinational exercise

The 1-228th “Winged Warriors” provided airlift and medical evacuation support for UNITAS 16, a combined exercise hosted by Panama, that is designed to train U.S. and partner nation navies and public security forces to conduct joint naval operations, through the execution of littoral warfare, anti-piracy, maritime interdiction operations, countering transnational organized crime, anti-surface warfare, electronic warfare, communications exercises and air operations in order to increase interoperability and capability between participating naval forces.
