612th Air Base Squadron provides a happy birthday for Honduran children

By Tech. Sgt. Stacy Rogers 612th Air Base Squadron

Members of Joint Task Force-Bravo's 612th Air Base Squadron paid a visit to a local orphanage Nov. 6 to help provide some birthday joy for children there.

Twenty-one members of the 612 ABS spent the afternoon at the Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe orphanage in Comayagua. Six children at the orphanage had a birthday during the month of November, and the 612 ABS members brought along gifts, including much needed items such as new clothes and shoes.

As part of the birthday festivities, the 612 ABS fire department brought a fire truck to the orphanage for the children to look at, and Sparky the Fire Dog made an appearance to play with the kids as well. The 612 ABS members played soccer with the kids and taught a few of them how to throw a football for the first time. The children were treated to a birthday meal of pizza and birthday cake, and got to break open a piñata in celebration of the special day.
