JTF-Bravo members welcome new commander

By Staff Sgt. Bryan Franks Joint Task Force-Bravo Public Affairs

Army Col. Gregory Reilly assumed command of Joint Task Force-Bravo from Air Force Col. Eric Snadecki during a change of ceremony at the Soto Cano Fire Department February 9.

"One thing is for sure: it is a distinct honor to be here, one I do not take lightly," said Colonel Reilly. "I look forward to working with the team here...In the days to come I look forward to meeting each and every one of you."

Colonel Reilly has had tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and Bosnia; most recently he served as a professor teaching Joint Military Operations at the Naval War College at Newport, R.I.

The outgoing commander, Colonel Snadecki, returns to his position at U.S. Southern Command as the Stability Directorate Deputy Director for Training and Exercises.

During the change of command ceremony Marine Corps Brig. Gen. David Garza, chief of staff, U.S. Southern Command, said "JTF-Bravo, when we speak of 'reach,' we speak of you...When we asked, you responded."

General Garza went on to talk about some of JTF-Bravo's accomplishments during Colonel Snadecki's tour at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, and said that he has the same confidence in Colonel Reilly to do great things for JTF-Bravo.

"We expect you and your team to be ready to answer the call of the ambassador and U.S. Southern Command in responding to regional needs," said General Garza. "Soto Cano is a special place...you are a lucky man."

JTF-Bravo's primary mission is to support and conduct joint, combined and interagency operations in the Joint Operations Area, to enhance regional cooperative security initiatives and to support democratic development.
