Soto Cano AB, Honduras –
Team Soto Cano hosted more than 30 distinguished members of the surrounding communities during Leaders' Day for a tour of Soto Cano Air Base March 23.
The group visited the Medical Element, the fire department, toured static displays on the flightline and met with the Honduran Air Force Academy as well. At the kickoff of the event, Joint Task Force Bravo Commander Colonel Ross Brown gave the community leaders a mission brief as insight into Team Soto Cono's focus and purpose. Among many topics, the commander stressed the importance of teamwork.
"Every day my organization and I try to be the best neighbors we can be to our Honduran partners," said Brown. "We are guests here and are honored to support when and where we are able to."
During the question and answer portion of the brief, several leaders in the audience thanked Colonel Brown and all of JTF-Bravo for the partnership shared. From donating time and goods to local orphanages to providing fire-fighting assistance, many referenced past events where JTF-Bravo provided vital support to the community.
Leaders' Day was established in 2011 to educate local and national civic leaders on the mission and capabilities of JTF Bravo and Honduran AMA. As the senior representative for U.S. Southern Command, JTF Bravo's overall mission is to enhance regional security, stability and cooperation.
