Joint Task Force-Bravo's Joint Security Forces remember fallen servicemember

By Ana Fonseca Joint Task Force-Bravo's Public Affairs Office

Members of Joint Task Force-Bravo's Joint Security Forces came together and commemorated U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Randall Harris, a servicemember who died in the line of duty June 13, 1987 with a ruck march followed by a ceremony at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras May 21, 2014.

The ruck march started in the JSF parking lot and continued to the JTF-Bravo headquarters, ending at the memorial site of Harris.

Once the JSF and other JTF-Bravo members arrived at the memorial site, a prayer to honor those fallen officers was conducted by U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Nidza Crespo, training non-commissioned-officer-in-charge for JSF. Following the prayer, U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Chad Jones, military working dog kennel master, made reference to those Soldiers and officers who risk their life on a daily basis to protect our freedom.

"We must honor these fallen officers in duty, whether they're police or military," said Jones.

Finally, U.S. Navy Master at Arms 3rd Class Tyler Drinski, military working dog handler, and U.S. Army Spc. Hector Giomar Orozco, JSF patrolman and honor guard instructor, conducted a flag folding ceremony.

"It was great to celebrate Police Week and Memorial Day by remembering all those Soldiers and police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice," said Orozco. "It's the first time we've done this at Soto Cano, but I hope it turns into a tradition."
