SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras –
Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-Bravo), a unit under the U.S. Southern Command (U.S. SOUTHCOM) based out of Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras will conduct a Cultural Heritage exchange in conjunction with the Honduran Army's 120th Infantry Brigade at Copan Ruins, March 7-11.
The joint training event will include participation from the Honduran Institute of Anthropology and History and the Virginia Museum of National History’s Cultural Heritage Monitoring Lab. This training will help Honduran partners identify and preserve sites of historical importance during disasters as well as when conducting their daily operations throughout Honduras.
Engagements such as these strengthen partner nation relations by integrating U.S. military engineers and civil affairs professionals with local military partners, archaeologists, and international anthropologists.
As part of U.S. SOUTHCOM’s enduring promise to its regional partners, JTF-Bravo routinely conducts training to enhance interoperability between its Central American allies.
