SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras –
Joint Task Force-Bravo kicked off its' 2011 Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas drive here Oct. 17, 2011.
The CFC-O drive, which began this month, will end Dec. 2, 2011.
"Each Airman can make a difference," said Master Sgt. Yvonne Espinosa, JTF-Bravo CFC base coordinator.
This year, the goal for the JTF-Bravo is $45,000. Last year, the organization donated more than $40,000 to various charities through unit coordinators.
Servicemembers can contribute to the CFC-O through unit coordinators and online.
"It's quick and convenient," the sergeant said. "You can research any charity in seconds."
The Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas supports over 2,400 charities. These charities depend upon the generosity of servicemembers to better the lives of people and communities in need.
"I'm at my 20 years in the Air Force and if I can do one last positive impact; it's representing the CFC-O JTF-B and making every effort to meet our goal," she said.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the CFC. In a span of five decades, federal employees have raised nearly $7 billion in donations. In 2010, CFC-O raised over $13.8 million for those in need.
