Medical Element (MEDEL)
The Medical Element consists of U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force men and women working together to provide a wide range of health care and support to U.S. service members and Hondurans. MEDEL consists of a dental clinic, pharmacy, patient administration, laboratory, veterinarian services, preventive medicine, radiology, medical maintenance, medical supply, personnel administrative center, unit supply, emergency medical technicians, aviation medicine and operations. Their mission is to provide health service support and mobile surgical teams to US Forces deployed in theater; conduct medical readiness training exercises (MEDRETEs); serve as liaison to Honduran Ministries of Health.
