CSM David S. Moore enlisted as an Infantryman in the United States Army on 14 June 1994, in La Porte, Texas. He attended Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. Upon graduation, he was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
His previous assignments include: 3-21 IN/2-5 IN, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; 1-509th PIB, FT Polk, LA; 1-506th INF “CURRAHEE”, South Korea; 1-325 AIR, Ft Bragg, NC; U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Houston Recruiting Battalion; 1-505th PIR, FT Bragg, NC, 1-21 INF “Gimlets”, Schofields Barracks, HI; and 1-506th INF “CURRAHEE”, FT Campbell, KY. He has also served four tours in Iraq, two tours in Afghanistan.
He has served in every leadership position in the Infantry from Team Leader through Command Sergeant Major.
His military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic NCO Course, Advanced NCO Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Ranger School, Jump Master School, Recruiting School, and the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 65). He holds an Associate’s degree in General Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management-Counter-Terrorism, both from American Military University.

He is married to the former Neely Brookover of Pasadena, Texas. Together they have two adult children, a son (Marshall) and a daughter (Madison).
