Colonel Thomas D. Boccardi is a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado and the son of a career Army Pilot. He was commissioned as an Infantry Officer through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps at Colorado State University in 1989. He has served in multiple command and staff assignments, which include Special Operations over the last 23 years.

As a lieutenant, he served as a platoon leader, mortar platoon leader and company executive officer in the 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light). Following the Infantry Officer Advanced Course, he was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment (Mechanized), 1st Armored Division, where he served as a brigade and battalion assistant S3 and company commander and participated in OPERATION JOINT ENDEAVOR (Bosnia). Upon completion of company command, he was assigned as a ground operations officer for Joint Inter-Agency Task Force West (Counter-Drug), later he was selected to the 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, GA., where he served as a liaison officer (LNO) and ranger company commander. After commanding at the Ranger Regiment, he was selected to command A Company, 2nd Battalion, 11th Infantry Regiment, where he implemented the Pilot for the Basic Officer Leader's Course.

Upon graduation from the Command and General Staff College, he was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, where he served as a Battalion S3 and Executive Officer for the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment (Mechanized) and participated in OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. He then served as the Brigade Operations Officer and Brigade Executive Officer and participated in OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and subsequently commanded the 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade (STRYKER), and 25th Infantry Division and then participated in OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. Upon completion of battalion command, Colonel Boccardi served as the Chief, Infantry Branch at Human Resources Command; he was then selected as a Senior Service College Fellow at Yale. Colonel Boccardi was the Chief of Future Operations (G35), at U.S. Army Pacific and presently commands Joint Task Force-Bravo, Soto Cano, Honduras.

His operational deployments include: OPERATION JOINT ENDEAVOR, Bosnia, 1995-1996; OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, Iraq, 2003-2004, 2005-2007, 2007-2009.

Colonel Boccardi's education includes a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Colorado State University, a Masters of Military Arts and Sciences from the Command and General Staff College. He is a graduate of the Joint & Combined Warfighting School and was a 2011 Senior Service College Fellow at Yale University.

Colonel Boccardi's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (w/2 oak leaf clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (w/6 OLC), Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (w/4 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (w/3 OLC), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal (w/OLC), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (w/4 OLC), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, NATO Medal, the Combat Infantrymen's Badge, Expert Infantrymen's Badge, Ranger Tab, Senior Parachutist Badge and Air Assault Badge.
