Un helicóptero CH-47 Chinook del Ejército de los EE.UU. sale de la Base Aérea Soto Cano para apoyar los esfuerzos contra un incendio en la costa Norte de Honduras el 31 de marzo del 2016, tras la solicitud enviada por el Presidente de Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernandez, al Embajador de los EE.UU. en Honduras.
