Unidad médica militar estadounidense integra nuevas tecnologías en ejercicio de respuesta ante huracanes
En preparación para la temporada de huracanes de 2014, el Elemento Médico de la Fuerza de Tarea Conjunta-Bravo (MEDEL) llevó a cabo un ejercicio de respuesta a desastre/asistencia humanitaria (HADR) el 12 de junio de 2014. Como parte de este ejercicio, un tipo de aplicaciones de tecnología móvil que se ejecutan en los teléfonos inteligentes y las tablets fueron utilizados para mejorar las capacidades de la unidad: Global MedAid, aplicación médica de traducción hablada (MAST por sus siglas en inglés) y GeoShape. La aplicación global MedAid es una solución de captura de datos para su uso en la documentación de la atención y el tratamiento de los heridos que permite al personal médico realizar un seguimiento de los pacientes de triaje hasta que sean dados de alta de las instalaciones. Los cadetes de la Academia Militar de Aviación de la Fuerza Aérea de Honduras asistieron a MEDEL asumiendo el papel de las víctimas del huracán durante el ejercicio.
